If you are looking for a quaint place, full of Southern charm to have an outdoor wedding in the metro-Atlanta, GA area, consider the square in downtown Marietta. The name of the square is Glover Park. In the park you will find a gazebo, a fountain, beautiful landscaping, and plenty of park benches. The small gazebo is perfect for weddings. It is picturesque and affordable.

The fountain, gazebo, and well maintained landscape create plenty of photo opportunities. The beautiful background is perfect for your wedding.

The city of Marietta allows weddings to be booked in the square before 10 am and after 6 pm during the week. Weddings may be booked all day on Sunday. The small gazebo may be rented for $125 per hour. There is a stage for larger wedding parties. It may be rented for $300 an hour.

The park may allow chairs in front of the large stage, check with the Deptment of Parks and Recreations, as policies regarding chair placement are subject to change. Decorations may be added to either the stage or the gazebo. Someone from the wedding party is required to oversee set-up and clean up immediately following the wedding.

Weddings are booked first-come, first served. Your rental agreement is not considered complete until the application has been submitted and the appropriate fee has been paid in full.

Your reservations apply to the stage and gazebo. Glover Park is a public park, and may be used by other visitors at the time. It has been my experience that people are generally not intrusive on a wedding party and go out of their way to not disrupt the ceremony.

Rice and birdseed may not be used in the park, nor will the park accommodate a reception. There are several guest houses within blocks of the square that host spectacular receptions.

One reception facility worth noting is the Stanley House Inn. The Southern charm of your wedding will continue as your reception party moves to the antebellum home turned bed 'n breakfast. The bride and groom can ride to the Stanley House via horse and carriage.

We arrived at the downtown Marietta parking deck around 9:15 AM and made our way on over to The Stanley House, c. 1897. This is a Queen Anne style mansion of great historical value and a home that I've wanted to visit for some time now. It's huge and, of course, features a turret. It was built for Woodrow Wilson's Aunt, Felie Woodrow. In the 1980's it was renovated and is now a beautiful bed & breakfast. There are many domestic and international antiques on display throughout the Inn.
